Anna is the mother of Papu and two real world children. She is inspired by the bustle of cities but dreams about moving to the countryside. Full of visions and plans, Anna also has what it takes to make them into reality.
"The reason behind founding the Papu brand was a desire to design lovely yet practical children’s clothes, but also to manage their production as responsibly as possible. Designing children’s clothes is like a wonderful game, but there are aspects to it you have to take seriously. I want to be able to proudly stand behind everything I do." Anna
Hanna-Riikka is the artist who draws, illustrates and creates the visual world of Papu. A mother of two and a children’s art teacher, she likes to look at the world from a playful point of view. She finds inspiration in bad jokes and pondering the meaning of things.
"Drawing the Papu collections has been a wonderful and totally new kind of a job. I’ve always found it fascinating to illustrate fabric and books. And what’s best, my children can now walk around in clothes drawn by their own mother! " Hanna-Riikka
Jussi is a managing director, a sales manager, a forest engineer and a tour manager and a roadie all rolled into one. In a small company all work is somehow interlinked, but Jussi keeps everything under control. You might run into him in the forest, looking for ingredients for mushroom sauce with his children, or hunting for the perfect fir tree at Christmastime.
"It's been a steep learning curve over the last few years, but now things are really starting to take off!" Jussi
Minni is a fashion designer, optimist and natural organiser. She guides Papu’s product development processes with unfaltering professionalism. A mother of three brilliant boys and two great girls, she can’t get enough of colour palettes, architecture, countryside charm and tasty treats. She wears out her trainers on gravel roads and her high heels on cobbled city streets. Minni is never too rushed to stop and take a photo.
"At Papu we've succeeded in practicing what we preach. Our way of doing things combines genuine, meticulous care for the environment and thorough planning with creative thinking and shiny happy teamwork." Minni
Marja, Jussi’s right hand woman in sales, also looks after Papu’s Weecos online shop and coordinates both communications and marketing. She is passionate about making Papu ever more environmentally sound. In her private life she likes to do forward rolls with her two girls.
"At Papu you learn something new every day. I have a chance to work with creative people as well as organise and develop the processes of a growing company – a dream job for a former university researcher! Working here has taught me that as long as you believe in your dreams, you can do anything!" Marja
